Thermo Fisher Acquires Proxeon

or: Don’t Know? [gs] Will Show!

Dear reader,

last week Thermo Fisher announced the acquisition of Proxeon A/S, a Danish proteomics workflow solution provider that offers respective software and liquid chromatography solutions.

An acquisition by Thermo Fisher actually is not a very unique or special event, as Thermo Fisher has been acquiring firms one by one over the past years. gene-sensor.com has on file more than 70 financial transactions for companies that today belong to the Thermo Fisher group of companies.

What's quite interesting about this deal is that the Proxeon EASY-nLC solution is used by several other major mass spectrometry players! Many of them might have been taken by surprise by this transaction.
