Dear reader,
first of all a Happy New
Year to everybody out there! All the best for your endeavours in 2010
from everybody at [iito] Business Intelligence.
The new year starts like the old year with acquisitions by the "Usual
suspects"... last week Qiagen and Life Technologies "did it again"
(Hello Kevin, they "did it again"!).
It could have been Siemens, Thermo Fisher, Hologic, Philips are any
other of the "usual suspects" and the trend for consolidation to reach
critical mass in key areas of tomorrow’s markets in molecular
diagnostics and research technologies will surely continue.
This newsletter will take a look at more than 500 deals and events that formed
today’s Life Technologies.
But during the last month one "newcomer" to the battle for key
positions in the life sciences research tools market has turned up and
has executed a surprisingly
broad and well structured string of acquisitions: Danaher.
Probably best known so far for its Leica Microsystems business in the
life sciences area the broad technology concern has repositioned
itself to become a serious player in the life science research tools
area in the years to come. We will take one [gs]-click to see this
quite clear within seconds.
As Life Technologies (before ABI and Invitrogen) is indeed one of the "usual
suspects", the [gs] database supplies the relevant information with 1-click within seconds.
To take a structured look at recent key acquisitions of Danaher in the
life sciences field is also a matter of seconds and just 1-click with
»gene-sensor«:
And [gs] adds something from the past... just naturally.

them!
